I didn't kill anybody?

No, that will not go over well....

No damage to the house, the trash can was still in the same spot we left it.

Still unemployed, as most of the advertised positions are for factory engineers and accountants and paralegals.

Still writing, but most of it is for magazines in Second Life, and paid in L$, instead of USD and the current exchange rate is about L$270 = $1.

The RP outlines are all right, except when they get tangled with others. There is still the annoyance of the occasional bigot, who does not see himself as such, and gets indignant when someone points it out to him. Besides, I do not need the extra crap, the office in-world is getting busy enough without taking him to court over it.

Still working as a volunteer for Relay for Life of Second Life. My page is http://main.acsevents.org/goto/Annechen.Lowey even if the stupid site is not behaving today to let me in.

So, Seester is having breathing problems, I might have mentioned this before.

She also has two cats that have been indoor-outdoor cats, that need to find a nice, kind home. We cannot take them, due to two factors. Herman being FIV positive is one, and Himself having issues with indoor felines marking his clothes (the ones left in the floor instead of the hamper, by the way) is the other.

I do not have pics of Saffron and Tequila, as they are skittish, but one is a mottled tortishell and the other is a mostly white cat with tortie patches (something like Muta/Renaldo Moon, but definitely no where near as brave) and they have both been neutered/spayed. (Seester refuses to call it being "fixed' as everything was working before the surgery.)

They currently live in East Tennessee, so if someone should know of a house in the area in need of two cats, I will attempt to arrange contacts.

September 17, 1990 to October 22, 2008.

Not a bad run, but towards the end it got ugly.

A downward spiral, starting with stress-related illness, causing absences that created a backlog of work and therefore more stress, was not helped by upper management projecting what seemed to be the attitude that the production workers in the agency were interchangeable and disposable.

I will miss my immediate supervisor, who tried to help, and who seemed worried about me. I will miss some of my co-workers, but by no means all of them.

Honestly? When the axe falls, and the predominant emotion is relief, it is time to go.

Who knows, I might even take a stab at finishing the first complete draft of the first book in the trilogy.

So, after getting bitten (stops to count) seven times by an unidentified beastie that was most likely a spider of some sort a week ago, we take stock. The bites are not necrotizing (Yay!), I itch all over (Boo!), and I still cannot climb walls or shoot webs (SO unfair!).

However, I managed to have tomato bisque and a cherry turnover at lunch without getting either of them on the Ever-So-White shirt.

Sometimes, you have to take your accomplishments where you find them.

WAAAAAUGH!

Okay, first, everyone think good thoughts about the job interview for Corgs, m'kay?

Second - and the reason for the cry of surprise/fear/Whisky-Foxtrot-Tango-ness, I was called for sartorial advice.

We shall pause, for those who have seen me in person when I dress myself, to finish ROTFLing.

I mean, come on! I may have fewer aloha shirts than Himself, but I still have more Hawaiian print shirts than the average fan boy. Stop and think about that, just for a moment.

Now, realize I also have Hawaiian-print dresses, besides. (Wearing one now, in fact.)(Come to think of it, I was wearing a different one when the picture for the icon was taken....)

Okay, fine - I can dress the avatars in a reasonably nice fashion, but it still weirds me out.

Oh. Hi.

Yeah, I've not been here... see, I have this job, and it thoroughly gets in the way of my computer time, and the even if it pays better than the one that lets me get involved in explosions and such, and I do want to keep the virtual houses so I have to let peoples swear at me without response, so then I come home and try to connect with family before diving into the grid, and well, the spice must be appeased (not that that is EVER a chore, but scheduling is an issue, sometimes) and OOH LOOK A MEME! )

This has been a good week for Steampunk Smut.

Just sayin'.

…but for a good cause. See, every Friday, (or every Friday I remember and don’t have other plans) I go to the First Harvest Café for lunch. All sorts of good karma that I could use right about now (yes, another box of rocks, I’ll let y’all know once things settle and I have told the husbands) and it is usually very good. It was today as well, but I have to get there first.

Now, with the cost of gas going up, it hurts my feelings to fill up. I know it is nothing like what one sees in Europe these days, but still. I’m old enough to remember filling the tank of the Beetle, getting a couple of 12 oz Cokes, and two packs of cigarettes and getting change back from a $20. Yes, I am that old; stop snickering before I whack you with my cane.

At most, this place is 400 meters from my building, but this is in a place where there are NO SIDEWALKS. Drivers in the area do not see pedestrians except to speed up. This used to take me forever to walk, but as I am 48 days out from my last smoke, it felt better than the last time. I don’t have my mother’s deceptive ground-eating stroll (she doesn’t look like she is moving that fast, but suddenly she is at the end of the block – I have accused her of teleporting without sharing the technology) but I did make good time. I also did not get hit, which is good.

This was the first time I had been to the café on a day-camp week. They have a day camp for kids to cook during the week, and they help serve on Friday. Hyperactive Lad will be old ennough next year, so he will be going. Lunch was prepared by the kids in the day camp - and it was not only Edible, it was Delicious. This is good enough I told the boys, “You find a girlfriend you want to keep, bake for her – good job” because the gingerbread cake had a really good ginger-and-orangeish glaze on top.

Take the time to look for these places; you might be surprised by what you find.

21+ days smoke free, and the thing I notice the most is how many people in this building reek.

Okay, I can quit worrying so much – crisis just about over. Yes, I was carrying a box of rocks, and forgot to share. Luckily, this time I did not break my legs with carrying it.

My sister has been in the hospital with an infection'n'such (technical terms courtesy of my mother). Sister is to be discharged either today or tomorrow, which is good, because she misses her children and needs somebody to swear at (I told your she was my sister). You don't swear at the nurses, they take care of you, and you don't swear at the doctors, because they can cut off your pain med scrip.

I still do not have the capital to set it up for her to get in-world from her house (really ought to go ahead and set up her account to get the names to match somebody), especially since the next purchase for us will be a laptop so Iandad can go dancing.

Writing has been scattered. I have more than three lines going now, so that means I may eventually get back to Marta's (which is another stumbling block entirely) and somebody has another poking stick for me for automotive smut.

I will not be tonight, either.

But here is another reason why I haven't posted.
http://www.massively.com/2008/04/15/key-second-life-metrics-for-february/

"Females spent nearly twice as long online in Second Life in February as the boys - another trend which continues steady each month. In short, the average active Second Life user is most likely to be your mother (so to speak)."

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

You kids get out of my sim until you have cleaned your room and finished your homework!
