Ther is a new chapter of the AU "Harry Grows A Brain" Potterfic at [livejournal.com profile] trickofthedark which is marked as no longer PG-13, and since she illustrates her stories, need to check this one from somewhere other than work.

Looks like Hermione gets Pictish in this one, if the cut-text is any indication.

Yeah, but I mean, her style... it's not a matter of graphic, it's... blunt, just a bit shy of actually crude.

I rather thought her style was much more natural than a lot of the, ah, "naturalist" art out there. Fish Tale was a little more explicit in places, but the story kept me going.

I meant the text, actually *grin*. The art is flat-out charming, even when she's being, erm, intimate. It kinda reminds me of the best childrens' books illos overall.

Hehehe! Usually my style is a bit sweeter. I was indeed intentionally trying to be blunt and crude in this chapter. It took some effort to actually type some of those crude words for public consumption, I'm usually rather more coy. But it looks like I got the effect I was trying for this time. ;)

I consider Hermione to be officer material and Hogwarts this final year in my AU, more or less a military school, and the title of the chapter 'Screwed, blued, and tattooed' is taken from crude navy officer slang. Not a Pictish reference. =)

I dunno - In my neck of the kingdom, that's how the Picts (and Vikings, and Saxons) usually end up by the time they are no longer eligible for novice tournaments. :P

LOL. Well okay then. It can be a Pictish reference, too. It totally could be, because Hermione's definitely no longer eligible for novice tournaments. ;)

It was indeed effective, I can tell you that. Not my usual taste, but I've read some of your other chapters, and you're far too intriguing. ^_^ 'Not your mother's Hermione,' to parody the car ad.

LOVE your art style.
