He showed her to the door at the back of his bedroom, half-hidden in the alcove leading to the closet and bath. “I think we may need to work out some space issues. It’s six of one, half-dozen of the other whether it will be simpler to try to fit your things here or to build new and move two households.”

“I’m not sure what you mean...” she began, as he keyed the entry code, opening the door.

“You will probably understand better when you see it,” he said as he escorted her through the door at the other end of the air lock.

The first thing she noticed was the room was under positive pressure, and though the room beyond was dark, she was drawn through the door by the scent. “Oh, my-” her voice wavered, “Is this what I think it is?”

He closed the door behind him and reached for the light switch at the same time. The lights came on, revealing three levels of shelves full of books, with the reading area on the first floor a pool of warm light by an overstuffed chair and ottoman. She began to shake, and he asked, “Are you all right?”

She shuddered, moaned, and then tackled him.

An hour later, he said, “If I had known that would be your reaction, I would have shown this to you sooner.”

She snuggled against his shoulder, “At least this way you know I didn’t marry you just for your collection.”
