Hmm... 30% chance or 30% of the day?

The Main Street Jazz Fest was fun, what we saw of it.
We get there early... 'about an hour before the first act goes on' early. It's a free show, but if you want a good seat for the headliner, you have to set up base camp.

Considering the quality of the acts, this isn't a bad thing. This is the third year for the Rutherford All County High School Jazz Band to take the lead.

The kids did well, and wrapped up their set with the first side of Chicago 2. Remember when albums had two sides? Back in the dark ages when analog vinyl was king? Yeah, right, say that again and I'll run over you with my walker.
After that was the MTSU Jazz Ensemble I and then we settled in for Tachoir. The rain started to drizzle, and the band leader, Jerry Tachoir, said it never rained at a Tachoir show, so what we were experiencing was just "Heavy Humidity".
Then in the middle of the next song, the heavens opened up. I headed for the WMOT tent as the nearest dry cover.

I suppose 'Dry Cover' is not quite the correct term.

If you want to get technical, it was "Drier Than Swimming".

But it was fun, if you chose to make it fun.

Eventually, the rain slacked off, and we waited for the lightning and thunder to let up so the show could continue, and it started to rain heavier.
Hyperactive Lad was shivering, Himself's smokes were soaked, and I could no longer reliably keep the phone dry, so we headed home.
By the time we got to our driveway, the sun was shining brightly, the sky was blue, and the birds were singing. I told the birds to sod off, made the boy hang up his clothes to dry and then slept for fifteen hours.
How was your weekend?
