Reality is overrated.
I am back in my office (the paid one) today. It is not nearly as interesting, because the clients are not as erudite as chatting with the Accountant-In-A-Jar. Whatever flavor of virus I had, it cleared up in the estimated 72 hours, so no blood work for me. Yays.
This turned out to be a mixed blessing, as I spent eight hours at my grandmother’s house helping clear out at least four decades of clutter. She is not doing well, and we visited her in the hospital. She does not always want to eat, which I suppose is the one last bit of control she has over her activities. This is from the woman who was the oldest of four, a top sales leader for an encyclopedia company in the 1960’s and 1970’s in addition to decades as a teacher – being In Charge with full control has been important to her most of her life.
Nevertheless, back to the house - I come by my magpie tendencies honestly and had to rein those tendencies in while we cleared the bookshelves in the kitchen. I was not entirely successful; I now have several vintage cookbooks and parliamentary procedure manuals. I also have several pieces of hollow ware, and I have no Idea where I will store them, or when I will use them. The autographed Sir Edmund Hillary book is just icing on the cake. Now I just have to deal with the mold and mildew after-effects. *sniff* *snork* *wheeze*
For the other office, I need to remember to look for my research on Romanian wines (it was somewhere around here), and to copy the drink recipes for Herr Szondi. I also need to format the quiz questions and set up the Clockwork Quizophone. That will at least be set up tonight with one of the standard quizzes. After hearing the he-said-she-said between the Baron and the Amazon, I really need to see about how to have an appropriate appointment calendar for the staff.

Good scores on the books and stuff. You never know what kind of treasures you can find in the old cookbooks (and if nothing else you can always chuckle at the pictures).
