Is there a Million-Fan March?

The community [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts is up to 26144 members as of a few minutes ago.

Edit: As of 14:27, 5/31/07, membership is up to 27631. No, I am not camped out on the user info page hitting the "refresh" button with the fervency of a lab rat.

I just spent the last hour and a half reading up on the drama. It looks like LJ really shot itself in the foot.

OK, one of those was me.

So, SF Fandom constitutes 2 percent of LJ. Hmmm. Maybe if we all actually bought stock in the company, that would mean something.

I think it's to illustrate the nuber of accounts that could leave if the drama llamas continue to violate the goat.

violate the goat
Erm, is it 'K to put that in a LiveJournal now?

She didn't express it as an interest, it should be fine.

Remember, too, that's within little more than a day of existance for that LJ. Signups are still going on.

Take a look at [livejournal.com profile] fandom_pays. That's very roughly $100K of income, and that's just the people who responded. How many can we figure on either not getting the word or not wanting to answer? Even if you toss in another 10% for 'missed the boat', that's a sweet piece of change.

No, but we can say 'FANDOM GIVES' really loudly a few more times. :)

[checks] Turns out I just spelled it wrong. [livejournal.com profile] fandompays did a little poll-bases financial analysis. Might not be scientific, but it's a ballpark figure.

'baseD'. :headdesk:

A bit more seriously - not just 2%, but over 30K active accounts. Somebody quoted a number that of the 13 mil total accounts, only about 1.5 mil are active (don't know where that came from).

There is a lot of Basic deadwood out there, using up good usernames, stuff that's been posted in 4 times 3 years ago, etc.

In addition, fen being icon junkies for a large part, there may be more Paid accounts in proportion for the extra icon slots (see [livejournal.com profile] fandompays for some sampling).

29,578 as of the timestamp on this post and one of them was me.

Almost 32K now.
