The fangirl, episode I

Yesterday was comic day at Haus Loewenstein. After after picking up the box at Grand Adventures and before buying too much shojuo manga at the local chain store, we happened upon a closet cleaning at Outer Limits.

It seems one of the employees was paring down his Star Wars collectibles and selling off the extras. The entire store inventory related to the movies was also on sale. It was then that I found myself in the grip of the dark side - my inner fangirl (SQUEEEL!)

I have made a purchase that has absolutely nothing to do with Lucas' franchise, but is related. You see, one of my current vices is the world of webcomics. Among my pushers is Shaennon Garrity. Sarge is the creator of Narbonic.  Would that I could identify with the female characters, I am closest to Dave, which is okay, since he has occasionally been female.

My purchase has been a quiet joke to my husband, and a source of confusion for my son. "But, it's a KID"S toy, Mommie. Why do you have it?" I am unable to explain the connection. I don't quite understand the impulse, myself.

It is from the 1997 series, Collection 2, No. 69721. It is not the original 1980s version, and is nowhere near as valuable, but it is a small connection. It is Saelt-Marae
